At biOrganics we feel strongly that animals should not suffer for the sake of beauty. We do not test our products or ingredients on animals and we adhere to the internationally-recognised Humane Cosmetic Standard www.gocrueltyfree.org. Certification under the Humane Cosmetics Standard provides independent endorsement of our strict policy against animal testing. Our suppliers are also required to comply with the Humane Cosmetic Standard and confirm that no ingredients used in our products have been tested on animals for cosmetics purposes since February 2002 , which is the fixed cut-off date that we have adopted. We use long standing, tried and tested ingredients so that no animal testing is necessary.

So what are the essential ingredients which make our products so special?
Proteins
biOrganics products are formulated from a unique vegetable protein which is absorbed directly into the hair shaft. During use, when the hair has absorbed all the necessary nutrients it requires from the product, all residue is then rinsed away leaving the hair clean, nutritiously balanced and free from build-up.
Apart from the ethical question of using animal based proteins in hair products (nails, hair, bone etc), there are further problems caused by these substances 'breaking down' into fatty acids directly onto the hair. This causes a reaction with oxygen in the air making the hair heavy and lifeless.
Minerals
Minerals play an essential part in the nutrition of the body and are divided into two main groups 'Major Minerals' and 'Trace Elements'. Minerals and Trace Elements occur from natural dietary sources, such as nuts, whole cereals and vegetables. Their use in the biOrganics range is to provide a naturally balanced formula, designed to leave the hair perfectly nourished and a picture of health.
Herbs and Essential Oils
Herbs and Essential Oils are concentrated, aromatic compounds located in the glands or cells of the plant. The oils themselves are composed of many different and varied constituents and are extracted from the leaves, seeds or flowers and sometimes from woods and resins. The same oils are used in Aromatherapy. We use the Herbs and Essential Oils that are reputed to have the greatest beneficial effects on both the hair and scalp.
