Cruelty Free Shampoo Conditioning and Styling Products
Cruelty Free Shampoo Conditioning and Styling Products. BiOrganic Hair Therapy is the only professional cruelty free hair brand which presently features both the BUAV and The Vegetarian Society logos on their packaging, which together with a complete list of product ingredients means that both you and your clients can be sure of the cruelty free products you use.
In the past few years the awareness of environmental and animal rights issues has grown considerably Almost every company claims that their products are cruelty free, not tested on animals and safe to the environment.Although many companies genuinely do not test on animals directly, the ingredients they use may have been tested on animals by an independent laboratory on their behalf Many companies also use animal derived ingredients in their products in the form of animal proteins, fragrances or colourants.
Companies are not obliged to label their products with ingredient details, so you don't have access to the information that will let you make a truly cruelty free decision. Now however, by looking for the symbols of the following organisations, you can be sure that you are using cruelty free beauty products from companies with a positive policy of cruelty free products manufacture.
The BUAV
(British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) was founded in 1898 to oppose all animal experiments The BUAV has created the 'Not Tested on Animals' product logo This may only be used under licence by companies whose products and ingredients have been free from animal testing from an agreed fixed cut-off date, either by the manufacturer, their supplier or on behalf of either party.
Mission Statement
At biOrganics we feel strongly that animals should not suffer for the sake of beauty. We do not test our products or ingredients on animals and we adhere to the internationally-recognised Humane Cosmetic Standard www.gocrueltyfree.org. Certification under the Humane Cosmetics Standard provides independent endorsement of our strict policy against animal testing. Our suppliers are also required to comply with the Humane Cosmetic Standard and confirm that no ingredients used in our products have been tested on animals for cosmetics purposes since February 2002 , which is the fixed cut-off date that we have adopted. We use long standing, tried and tested ingredients so that no animal testing is necessary.
The Vegetarian Society
As with the BUAV, The Vegetarian Society has set similar strict standards for manufacturers to adhere to. Product ingredients are investigated thoroughly before their symbol is awarded. Products displaying The Vegetarian Society's 'V' symbol are the only ones that the Society can guarantee contain no animal bi-products whatsoever.
biOrganics have gone one step further than the requirements of the BUAV and the Vegetarian Society. In over twenty years of creating formulae, neither our ingredients or finished products have ever been tested on animals.
