BiOrganic
Hair Therapy is the only professional hair care brand which presently
features both the BUAV and The Vegetarian Society logos on their packaging,
which together with a complete list of product ingredients means that
both you and your clients can be sure of the products you use.
In
the past few years the awareness of environmental and animal rights issues
has grown considerably Almost every company claims that their products
are cruelty free, not tested on animals and safe to the environment.
Although
many companies genuinely do not test on animals directly, the ingredients
they use may have been tested on animals by an independent laboratory
on their behalf Many companies also use animal derived ingredients in
their products in the form of animal proteins, fragrances or colourants.
Companies
are not obliged to label their products with ingredient details, so you
don't have access to the information that will let you make a truly cruelty
free decision. Now however, by looking for the symbols of the following
organisations, you can be sure that you are using cruelty free products
from companies with a positive policy of cruelty free manufacture.
The
BUAV
(British
Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) was founded in 1898 to oppose
all animal experiments The BUAV has created the 'Not Tested on Animals'
product logo This may only be used under licence by companies whose products
and ingredients have been free from animal testing for a period of 5 years,
either by the manufacturer, their supplier or on behalf of either party.
THE
VEGETARIAN SOCIETY
As
with the BUAV, The Vegetarian Society has set similar strict
standards for manufacturers to adhere to. Product ingredients are investigated
thoroughly before their symbol is awarded. Products displaying The Vegetarian
Society's 'V' symbol are the only ones that the Society can guarantee
contain no animal bi-products whatsoever.
BiOrganic
Hair Therapy have gone one step further than the requirements of the BUAV and the Vegetarian Society In over twenty years of creating formulae,
neither our ingredients or finished products have ever been tested on
animals. |
