Q: Have any of the biOrganic products you sell been tested on animals?
​
A: We are proud to say that none of our products and any of their ingredients has been tested on animals.

Q: Are your biOrganic products suitable for Vegans & Vegetarians?
​
A: Yes, currently all our products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans and endorsed by the Vegetarian Society.

Q: What is the shelf life of your products?
​
A: Once opened, biOrganics products when stored in cool conditions and out of the way of direct sunlight will stay active for up to 12 months.

Q: Can I use biOrganics products if I have sensitive skin?
​
A: Yes, all biOrganics products are free from the most common allergens such as SLS, artificial colours and fragrances. However, everyone's skin sensitivity is unique to them and you may find you are even sensitive to the most natural and gentle ingredients. For this reason we list the full ingredients for all of our products on our website to enable you to make an informed choice before purchase. If you are still unsure about a products suitability to your skin we recommend patch-testing a small amount of the product on the inside skin of the wrist area to ascertain its compatibility.

Q: How do I carry out a patch test?
​
A: The inside skin of the wrist is the most effective area on which to carry out a patch test. You can also test on the skin behind your ear if you suspect only your face is sensitive. Simply apply the product to that area and if any irritation occurs, often showing as a rash, a burning, prickly or tingling sensation, redness or any other temporary discolouration of the skin, remove the product immediately with warm water and a damp cloth.

Q: What if I have an allergic reaction to a product?
​
A: If you have carried out a patch test and have experienced an allergic reaction, please do not use the product under any circumstances and consult your physician immediately.

Q: Can I use biOrganic products if I am pregnant?
​
A: Some of our products contain essential oils which would not be suitable during pregnancy or whilst breast feeding. We recommend you consult your physician for specific advice.

Q: Do your shampoos contain SLS ? ( sodium lauryl / laureth sulphate)
​
A: No, we only use natural or gentler synthetic blends of sulphate like our Ecocert approved Ammonium lauryl sulphate for example.

Q: Why doesn’t my shampoo lather much on the first wash?
​
A: We've been conditioned to believe that the more a shampoo lathers the more efficient it is at cleaning but this isn’t the case. The general shampoo market relies on inexpensive, petrochemically derived detergents such as sodium lauryl and laureth sulphate for their exceptional foam building properties. These chemicals can contribute to drying out the scalp, leaving it flaky and sensitive as well as causing colour fade and dryness to your hair. biOrganics shampoos are made with naturally derived or synthetic/natural blends of sulphate like the ECOCERT approved Ammonium lauryl sulphate which gently, yet effectively cleanses. It is common place to find that the first application of shampoo does not lather very much which is normal so please don’t be tempted to apply more. Simply continue to massage into hair and scalp, rinse and repeat. The second application will be richer in lather as the first shampoo has already broken down the majority of dirt/product and oil build-up on the hair.

Q: Are your shampoos and conditioners safe to use on my coloured hair?
​
A: Yes, all of our shampoos are SLS free and gentle enough to use on all coloured hair types. Our Salon Secrets Replenishing Shampoo is very effective in conditioning and preserving your coloured hair for longer and the Salon Secrets Replenishing Treatment helps protect your coloured hair from the elements.

Q: Do you have anything I can use on my itchy/flaky scalp?
​
A: All of our gentle formulas may be beneficial as they are SLS ( sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate) free and in many cases it is these harsh detergents that may cause scalp dryness and sensitivity. Our Perfect Balance Shampoo contains soothing Aloe vera and calming Lavender and is available in a 50ml trial size. It is always essential that shampoos are rinsed out thoroughly as even gentle formulas can contribute to scalp sensitivity when any residue is left in the hair.
